"I Forgot to Remember to Forget"
It starts off with Lucas sitting at computer writing and Lindsey comes in and tells him she found a picture of him with Nathan and Whitey. And she wonders if he was really happier back then. And he tells her that he wouldn't change anything. Then it flashes back to the basketball team. And Whitey is saying that Lucas has been a great assistant coach and will someday take over the team.
There's a Naley kiss and little baby Jamie says "Ball." Haley tells Lucas that he's a part of the family and he always will be. Nathan scores a jump shot at the basketball game. Whitey tells Lucas that he's ready to take over as coach. And he walks out toward the locker room. They play on team Cobras. Nathan shoots the winning shot and the buzzer goes off. Everyone screams and cheers. That was an amazing play Nathan made. Whitey watches it in the locker room and smiles. Confetti is thrown everywhere! When Lucas sees Naley hugging and kissing, Lucas remembers back to his winning game where he tells Peyton that she's the one he wants next to him. "It's you, Peyton." Whitey tells him to remember that there are more important things in life than basketball. There's a guy reminding Nathan of his point shaving. Nathan tries to do something about it but Lucas pulls him away. They win the championship. Then Peyton texts him and tells him to play a certain song when he wins it. Whitey sits down and talks to Nate about the move he played after the game. He says that if he doesn't then, the temper of his will be all he has left.
Lucas calls Peyton and is surprised to find him standing next to her. Peyton works in the mailroom. He has dinner reservations for them at 8:00 P.M. and then Peyton says it's too early so they make it 9:30 P.M. She made him a mix CD and labeled "Songs to make you think of me!" Peyton's boss called and wanted her to come back to work. Lucas got them a room. She said she'd be there by 11:00 P.M.
But time has past and Lucas is stuck there waiting. He falls asleep holding an engagement ring. Peyton finds it and asks him what it is. "Peyton, I love you. And I want us to be together forever." Peyton didn't say no, just not right now. She wants to marry him someday. "Don't do that. Don't pull away from me" Lucas says this is just not enough. He kisses Peyton good-bye while she sleeps and gives the mix she made him back to her. Later, Peyton wakes up and discovers that he left the mix and is gone. As soon as Lucas is about to leave, he gets a call from Lindsey, an editor who loves his book. She past it on to her boss and he loved it as well. They're gonna publish his book; and he's gonna fly out to NY. Lucas meets Lindsey and her boss wants to change the title of his book and then he sees Brooke. He tells her about the whole situation with Peyton. They go out to eat and a lady sees Brooke holding Peyton's ring in her hand and then the lady thinks they're engaged and tells everyone there. They ride in a horse carriage and pretend it's their engagement night. He gets drunk and Brooke takes him back to her house, where she gets him in his PJs, unfortunately Lucas kisses her. She pulls away, telling him that they're not in high school anymore and Lucas says that he doesn't know what to do without Peyton. She tells him go out there and become the best novelist he can be and then go back to Peyton. She tells him that Lucas Scott will change the world someday and he doesn't even know it yet. She kisses his forehead and says good-bye to him.
Brooke is ready to take Clothes Over Bro's to the next level which is the magazine. Her mom tells her to call Victoria cause 'mom' makes her sound too old.
Lucas gives Lindsey a bamboo. It's suppose to bring luck. Haley puts up Nathan's trophies. Nathan tells Haley that he knows that they're not the couple that they used to be but they're gonna get there and they share a kiss. Brooke says to Lucas that he still loves Peyton and his only reply is that he has to get back to Lindsey.
